What is CDCS?
The Cornwall Deaf Children’s Society has been in existence since the early 1960s. It is affiliated to the National Deaf Children’s Society, but operates largely independently in the County.
As stated in our constitution, the primary aim is simple:
To further in every way allowed by law the education and relief of deaf children without regard to race, religion, creed, disability, sex or family circumstances.
As a parent-led organisation, membership is curently open to parents/carers of deaf children in Cornwall – though we also welcome interest from education, health and social care professionals working to support them.
Chairman’s Note: We are particularly keen to hear from parents who would be interested in joining the Executive Committee, so that we can make sure that the CDCS continues to meet the needs of the current generation of deaf young people.
